peanut butter power bites

pb bites.jpg

These are a favorite with my friends and family! They taste like candy, but they provide your body with some really powerful nutrients. Peanut butter is packed with magnesium & protein which are both vitally important for healthy muscle growth. Flaxseed is a great supplier of Omega-3 fatty acids, which support heart health & is important to work into any plant-based diet. And the dark chocolate… well that’s just good for your mood!

I usually include these in my breakfast, along with my favorite smoothie & some whole wheat toast. But with all that protein and magnesium, these can be a great snack to have on your way to the gym!

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 heaping cup of peanut butter

  • 1/2 cup of rolled oats

  • 1/4 cup of dark chocolate chips

  • 1 tablespoon of flaxseed (not ground!)

  • 2 tablespoons of honey or agave nectar

  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon

To Make It:

  1. Combine all of the ingredients in a large bowl & mix by hand until fully combined.

  2. Roll mixture into approx. 1-inch balls & place on a non-stick cookie sheet.

  3. Place the full cookie sheet into the freezer, let sit overnight. They’ll be ready for breakfast the next morning!
